On the 28th of April 2018 we will be hosting the 58th Annual Rodeo at the University of Glasgow Garscube Campus. It is a large-scale fundraiser that benefits animal charities. We also provide entertainment, food and festivities! Overall, it’s a wonderful community event that is family-friendly and supports a great cause. The event is entirely student-run, with a committee of 25 veterinary and bioveterinary science students organising the event, and up to 200 students volunteering. In the past 3 years the event has raised between £9000-14,000 for each years’ headlining charities, and have had a few thousand people in attendance. We are hoping this year will be just as successful as past years!
We have invited a variety of groups coming along, so there will be representation from breed-specific rescues, farm sanctuaries, horse rescue groups, welfare groups, reptile and rodent groups, and other more niche interests. We have groups that are local, and groups that have an international reach. In addition to the charities, we will have plenty of events and entertainment.
This years events include an animal handling tent, an interactive agility course for your 4 legged friends, a sled dog demonstration, a falconry display, alpacas, and our much beloved dog show, as well as so much more!
We will have a Main Marquee tent with numerous vendors, food, crafts and other
small business. We will also have a raffle with dozens of exciting prizes!
This is a totally dog friendly event and people who come are encouraged to bring their doggy pals along and have-a-go at agility, dog show, flyball and doggie dash recall competition. And, of course, for all of the kids there will be bouncy castles, laser tag, pony rides, face painting, and much more!
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Annual GUVMA Rodeo are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
