Rodeo is the largest charity event at the University of Glasgow. This year, Rodeo will take place on Saturday April 22nd, from 11am to 5pm. The GUVMA Rodeo is an annual event aiming to provide a day of fun and entertainment for the entire family, friends, and community, while supporting charitable causes related to animal welfare. The event provides an opportunity for commercial organizations, local businesses, and charities to interact and communicate with a wide audience comprising of students and families from the local area and beyond.
It attracts between 3000 and 5000 visitors each year, mostly from the Glasgow area, and many of these people bring along their pets to take part in some of the many events which run throughout the day. This is a day of entertainment, but also of education. We aim to entertain all those who attend with a day full of fun events including falconry demos, dog sledding demos, a dog show (which your fury friend can enter!), a fortune telling goat, duck herding, and much, much more.
There will also be many food trucks, vendors, and charities attending to sell their craft food, products, or to raise money and awareness for their causes. The previous rodeo raised over £14000 for charity, and our committee is working hard to ensure another successful Rodeo! This year we have chosen five beneficiaries: Horse Rescue Scotland, Riding for the Disabled Associated (RDA), Students for Animals in Need (SAIN), Scottish Badgers, and Trusty Paws. So, buy your tickets now and mark your calendars for a day full of fun and excitement, all while knowing proceeds are going to amazing animal related causes.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
