About Pedal For Scotland: The Big Belter
The Pedal for Scotland Big Belter® is a Sportive ride of 93 miles from Glasgow to Edinburgh. The ride uses the same start, first 25 miles and finish points as the Classic Challenge ride, meaning you get the buzz of Scotland’s biggest bike event on a quieter route designed for serious roadies. You'll encounter some steep climbs and some challenging descents - the Big Belter® is for those who want a serious challenge and want to put in the time to prepare for it.
The Big Belter route* takes in Scotland’s two largest cities via stunning countryside. It’s a substantial challenge with steep hills in the Bathgate Alps, but if you put in the training you'll be rewarded with great views across the Forth and the opportunity to really challenge yourself.
There are rest stops across the route with refreshments.
