Until 5th December: Colour and Life: Joan Eardley and the Children of Townhead
During opening hours
A small display of drawings of children from the Townhead area of Glasgow by Joan Eardley that demonstrate the artist’s ability to capture character and the vibrancy and optimism of childhood through colour, in the face of poverty.

Until November 2018: Burrell at Kelvingrove: Tapestries
During opening hours
With over 200 tapestries in the Burrell Collection, including majestic tapestries commissioned by kings and bishops and smaller domestic tapestries for the wealthy merchant classes, this exhibition showcases nine examples.

Friday 6th October - March 2018: Darkness Into Light – A history of Alcoholics Anonymous in Scotland
During opening hours
Alcoholics Anonymous in Scotland have produced an exciting exhibition charting the history and progress of AA in Scotland. Including historical artefacts, it reveals the story of how AA came to Scotland and how it engages with the public and professionals, offering people support 24/7 on a voluntary basis.

Saturday 9th December - Tuesday 5th June 2018: Copied by the Sun: Illustrations from Sir William Stirling Maxwell’s 'Annals of the Artists of Spain'
During opening hours
Discover how Sir William Stirling Maxwell, a Scottish collector and scholar, developed the world’s first photographically illustrated book on art. Original illustrations are showcased in this exhibition, a collaboration with the University of Glasgow.

Until June 2018: Henry Raeburn's 'Boy and Rabbit'
During opening hours
This inspiring portrait by Henry Raeburn of his Deaf step-grandson, is on loan from the Royal Academy in London, and is displayed with input from Glasgow Museums’ D/deaf Guides.

Curator of Scottish History, Dr Tony Lewis, reviews Glasgow's role in the tobacco trade and examines the production, distribution and display of tobacco and wealth derived from it in terms of links to slavery.

Tuesday 7th November: William McCance's painting, Conflict

Find out more about this challenging painting by a WWI conscientious objector. Curator, Peter Tuka, will reflect on the importance of the painting in the light of the artist's personal beliefs about war, injustice and suffering.
