Continuing our season of live acoustic sets in the Vic Bar, The Seven Song Club presents:
Friday 28th February: Constant Follower
Constant Follower bring their soaring, dream-like soundscapes to the Tron for this headline show following the amazing response from their first playing at the Club. Focusing around Stephen McAll’s delicate finger-picked acoustic guitar and sonorous vocal, their sound falls somewhere in the space visited by the likes of King Creosote & Jon Hopkins, Low and Sufjan Stevens.
Their debut EP gained them support from all over Scotland and with airplay on BBC Radio 6 Music and praise from folks like Gideon Coe (BBC 6 Music), John Mulvey (Mojo) and Alex Gallacher (Folk Radio). Some copies of the EP will be available on the night.
Friday 27th March: Duncan McCrone Band
Duncan McCrone and Cy Jack have been performing and writing together since they’d prefer not to say... From the days of influential folk-rock outfit Dapplegrim, through years with TV, radio and live performance legends the Clydesiders, they have established themselves as songwriters, media music composers and storytellers. Their fourth album Land of Gold on Greentrax Recordings has already become an established favourite on radio playlists across Scotland, Europe and beyond. A warm evening of great stories and songs from two of Scotland’s best-established songwriters and warmest performers.
Friday 24th April: Citizen Bravo
Citizen Bravo is Matt Brennan, a dual citizen of Canada and Scotland. Born in Nova Scotia and raised in New Brunswick, he immigrated to Scotland at the age of twenty-two to study and make music.
His debut album, Build A Thing Of Beauty has been hailed as 'pulse-quickening pop … smart and self-aware'
Friday 29th May: Firefly Fortyfive
Firefly Fortyfive are an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary folk music with an irreverent dash of 70s American west-coast harmony-infused country rock.
This is their single launch and will be a party to remember!
As well as originals their set often includes interpretations of songs by Joni Mitchell, Sandy Denny, Pentangle, Carole King, James Taylor, Townes Van Zandt, Gillian Welch, Tim Buckley and CSNY among many others.
Friday 26th June: Therese Martin Band
Regarded as one of the finest female vocalists around, Therese Martin brings her band to the Seven Song Club. Expect melody, passion and a driving high-energy performance that will make this a night not to be missed. This is the launch party for Therese's debut record roeleased by Fox Star Records.
