About Greater Belfast
Premièred to glowing reviews at the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe, Greater Belfast – originally developed at the Tron Theatre – is a bittersweet love-letter to musician/performer Matt Regan’s home city.
Song, storytelling, poetic spoken word and instrumental composition – also featuring the Cairn String Quartet – merge in a personal exploration of Belfast’s history before, during and since the Troubles, richly couched in pungent local idioms, matching poignantly heartfelt lyricism with caustic black humour.
“Indefinable and utterly distinctive. . . an evocation of place and meaning, the geography of the psyche and the way the future is built upon the past” (Guardian)
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Greater Belfast are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
