About Knit ‘n’ Natter Launch Event
The Willow Tea Rooms and Watt Brothers have joined forces to launch ‘Knit ‘n’ Natter’ - a regular knitting and crocheting event which will take place in The Willow Tea Rooms on third floor of Watt Brothers, 119 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow (Hope Street Entrance).
Open to complete novices and to those with some experience, guests are invited to come along to learn new techniques and have a good old natter (and a cuppa!) with like-minded people. Knit ‘n’ Natter is open to all ages and there’s a chance to win prizes and take home a goody bag.
For the launch event on 27th February 2017, Watt Brothers have invited two very special guests: Gabrielle Ramsden, Design Director and Dawn Whitaker, Design Manager of Yorkshire-based Thomas B Ramsden, who supply all Watt Brothers wools, yarns, patterns, needles and accessories. Ramsden’s have been around for over 120 years and are another family business steeped in history and are behind famous wool brands including: Peter Pan, Wendy and Robin. Gabrielle and Dawn will chat about the company, their range of wools on offer and take questions from the audience.
Anne Mulhern, Owner, The Willow Tea Rooms, said: “This is something we’ve been talking about since we moved into Watt Brothers last September, so I am delighted it’s happening! I’m a novice and I’m looking forward to picking up tips and hearing what Gabrielle and Dawn have to say on the day. It will also be a great opportunity to get a blether and cup of tea with customers!”
Speaking on behalf of Watt Brothers, Peter Samson, said: “Our knitting departments sell over 1 million balls of wool a year! We thrilled to have Gabrielle and Dawn up from Yorkshire for the launch. Knitting and crocheting – as well as other arts and crafts like embroidery and tapestry – are enjoying a resurgence and we plan to hold Knit ‘n’ Natter events regularly.”
Tickets cost £5. To book your place, call Sheila or Lynne at The Willow Tea Rooms on 0141 204 5242. Places are limited and bookings are on a first come, first served basis.
