HAPPY NEW QUEER!
It's a new year and a new Drag 101! We are ready to kick 2024 off in the best way possible, with some fabulous drag!
Get over the January blues by coming along to The Gilchrist Postgraduate Club, Glasgow University on Tuesday 16th January for the show starting at 7pm for some drag fun. Featuring our glamorous house queens, Dharma Geddon, Alana Duvey plus a selection of their drag chums.
Featuring more drag shenanigans than you can shake a wig at, for example but not limited to, lip sync performances, live singing, comedy, games and sometimes the downright unexpected and weird and not forgetting a wee fun chat or two with all of Dharma and Alana's dated/niche references all while continuing to break gender norms, experiment with gender and self expression.
Be sure select the 'Going' button and keep your eyes peeled on our Facebook event page for sickening guest performer announcements coming soon.
As always, Drag 101 is open to all, no matter your age, race, gender, sexuality, identity, pronouns, neurotype, abilities, body type, shape, size, hair colour, eye colour etc. you get the idea! You don't even need to be a student or a postgraduate at the university to come and enjoy the show.
So whether you're a Rupaul's Drag Race, Boulet Brothers' Dragula, Queen of the Universe or even a Camp Wannakiki superfan, a local drag connoisseur or if you've never even heard of or seen a drag performer in your life, you will be welcomed with open arms and shown all the love here at Drag 101. Our only aim/hope is that you'll leave having been thoroughly entertained.
We operate a welcoming, safe and relaxed space for all. The overall vibe of the show is nice and chilled. PLUS you can purchase drinks at the bar and even a cheeky snack or two. What more could you want?
Free entry! No tickets required. Simply turn up and you'll be let in (even if you're a little late, we'll still let you in). Advised to arrive early to guarantee a good seat! Please bear in mind that our New Year show can get pretty busy.
Although the show is free, a voluntary tip is always appreciated but this is not mandatory. Should you wish to tip, you can do so by sending your tip online before, during or after the show via PayPal at paypal.me/thedharmageddon, in person by putting money in the tip bucket/pint glass or by card with our fabby new card machine. Just see Dharma or Alana at the end of the show. Please only tip if you want to and have the funds to do so. We understand times are tough and not everyone can afford to. We will never force money from you. All we ask is you enjoy yourselves. However, if you do tip we can assure you that all tips will be split equally among all performers and stage hand.
*Please note under 18's must be accompanied by an adult (said adult will need to purchase non-alcoholic drinks and snacks at the bar on their behalf) and last but not least, please be aware that this is a drag show so there may be the possibility of adult language, themes/content, slight nudity, a crowded space, audience participation, a photographer, bright/flashing lights and loud noises/music. Types of performances may vary from those listed above, we can't guarantee if any will include these or not. We also can't always predict there won't be content that may be a trigger to some but we'll always try our best to warn where possible. Our intention is never to offend, upset or cause harm to anyone.*
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
