Returning in 2018 for our second year we're once again bringing a huge mix of boaty activity to the shores of the Clyde. Expect chances to get on the water in canoes; it's trying your hand at traditional skills; it's listening to fiddles choons with a pint while boats play on the water or strolling through our market looking at all the products hand made in Glasgow. There will be boat launches and rowing races, steam bending and story telling, sea shanties and beer. It'll be bright, colourful and surprising. It'll be unexpected, and it'll be really quite boaty!
The Festival runs from 10-5 on Saturday and 10-4 on Sunday and is totally FREE except for the Afterparty
We're based around the plaza of the Riverside Museum with good car parking and easy transport links to the city centre.
This year will once again have a whole range of activities from the bar tent filled with great music, to the Tall Ship Workshop where boatbuilders and craft makers will be demonstrating their skills in coracle building and boat building.
We'll have a makers market around the site where people can buy beautiful crafts and on board the Tall Ship a whole range of activities from story telling and sea shanty singing to face painting and morse code!
On the Water
On Saturday have our huge Castle to Crane race - we hope to have 76 boats this year! The race kicks off at Dumbarton at 10:45 and they'll all be crossing the finish line at the Finnieston Crane between 1 and 3 pm. If you'd like to spectate you can see the race from
Dumbarton Castle - Great for seeing the start.
Bowling Harbour where our pals at the BHive at Scottish Canals are putting on a shebang to help cheer the boats on.
Glasgow itself - we race up past the Tall Ship and the Festival Site before finishing at the Finnieston Crane. You get a great view from Bells' and Millenium bridges!
Around the festival Site we'll have boats playing and coming and going as well as free have-a-go sessions in canoes from Metro Outdoors.
This year we've organised an amazing after party at the new Argyll Street Arches in the centre of the city. We've got the Jigger Ceilidh band and the mighty Trongate Rum Riots coming to play rousing tunes to party the night away.
Tickets are still on sale - so get yours today!
