Due to the adverse weather conditions, organisers have made the decision to cancel this event.
There are lots of ways to tell a tale. Come along to our family day for arts, dance, photography, storytelling and more.
Please note, some events have limited capacity, and you may have to wait a little to take part in some activities.

‘One Shot’ Family Portrait Studio
led by artist Margaret Salmon
All ages (Pop-up studio)
A rare opportunity to have your family portrait taken in a pop-up studio, led by acclaimed Glasgow based artist, photographer and filmmaker Margaret Salmon. A one-shot analogue experience!
Character Cut-out Photo Station

Step into the frame and snap a momento from your visit to Tramway Family Day.

Join artist Mandy Roberts to make a wearable collage, influenced by the Steven Campbell exhibition in our T5 gallery.

Read, listen and create your own stories in a relaxed space, with our friends from Glasgow Libraries.
Planntrais agus Sgeulachdan / Plants and Stories
(Na Gàrraidhean Falaichte | The Hidden Gardens)
Take part in a reverse treasure hunt, about plants and their stories. A collaboration between Gaelic Arts and The Hidden Gardens. Open to everyone.
(We will be operating a queuing system on a first come, first served basis.)
Drop-in interactive storytelling with the Village Storytelling Centre
T1, 12.30 – 1.30pm / 3-4pm
Fun tales for all the family starring heroes, sheroes, dragons and giants! Get involved in the action and help our storyteller along the way.
Talking Hands with the Village Storytelling Centre Deaf Storytellers
All ages, please note some content may be best for ages 6+
What is it like to be Deaf? What is it like to be Deaf in a war-torn country? What is it like to be Deaf when nobody else in your family is? Visit a visual world of amazing stories and cultures.
Dance Me a Story with YDance
T4, 12.30/ 1.45pm/ 3pm
(45 minute sessions) Best for ages 3+
YDance, Scotland’s national dance organisation for children and young people, lead an exciting movement based session where families can move together to explore the story of ‘Patrick’ by Quentin Blake.
Multisensory Storytelling with the Village Storytelling Centre
Studio, 12.30pm / 1pm / 1.30pm / 2.30pm / 3pm / 3.30pm
20 minute sessions, best for under 7s
Storytelling to engage all the senses! Taste the King’s pudding, create the sounds of the jungle and feel the squishy mud on the farm!
The Work Room, 12.30pm / 1.30pm / 2.30pm / 3.30pm
Best for ages 0-2
A fun and interactive session for little ones and their adults, exploring our creativity through live music, movement and play, with our friends at The Work Room.
