The Big Banner Project

About The Big Banner Project

There is a beautiful banner hidden in the archives of The Hunterian Art Gallery in Glasgow. Designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in the 1900’s for The Willow Tea Rooms, it features a beautiful lady standing on a silver background, around her head a stunning bunch of roses and on her dress, blue and Lilac gems. Following on from the success of last year’s #bigrose project, Elisabeth Viguie Culshaw is back this year to invite the public to recreate beautiful banners in a series of workshops celebrate the refurbishment of The Willow Tea Rooms, 217 Sauchiehall Street (due to open in 2018)

Book yourself a day of creativity and learn to stencil before helping recreate one of the beautiful banners.

The completed banners will be displayed in The Lighthouse during the month of October.
