Saltfishforty and Red Tail Ring

About Saltfishforty and Red Tail Ring

Friends since primary school, brothers-in-law, and musical partners for 15 years: this closeness rings through the music of Orkney duo Saltfishforty, a sound less stripped-down than compellingly condensed. From both Brian Cromarty and Douglas Montgomery's seasoned, freewheeling technical fluency - on fiddle, viola, guitar, mandola and vocals - and source-material ranging from native Nordic-hued tunes to 1920s swing, new album Bere finds the pair on characteristically cracking form.

Michigan's Red Tail Ring - Laurel Premo and Michael Beauchamp - work similarly alchemical magic on their mix of original, old-time and traditional material, in spare yet lush intricate arrangements of banjo, fiddle, guitar, and close harmonies.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Saltfishforty and Red Tail Ring are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
