The Tannahill Weavers - Golden Anniversary
Celtic Connections: The Tannahill Weavers are joined by friends old and new for this special anniversary concert!
About The Tannahill Weavers - Golden Anniversary
Sorry, but this event has been and gone!
Formed from a Paisley pub session in 1968, seminal trailblazers the Tannahill Weavers now also rank as national treasures, inducted in 2011 into the Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame.
The first professional band to feature the Highland bagpipes, they remain an inspirational force, whose past personnel include Dougie MacLean, Gordon Duncan, Ross Kennedy and Iain MacInnes.
For this very special 50th birthday gathering, today’s line-up of co-founders Roy Gullane and Phil Smillie, with longtime colleague John Martin and newest recruit Lorne MacDougall, are joined by ex-members and new friends to perform old favourites, one-off collaborations, and tracks from their forthcoming anniversary album Òrach (‘Golden’).
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for The Tannahill Weavers - Golden Anniversary are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
