Brian Kennedy and support
Celtic Connections: Popular visitor to the festival in its early years, Brian Kennedy makes his return on January 21st
About Brian Kennedy and support
Sorry, but this event has been and gone!
A regular and highly popular visitor to Celtic Connections in its early years, Belfast’s Brian Kennedy is best known for his Secret Garden collaboration ‘You Raise Me Up’, with which he had a major UK hit after singing it at George Best’s funeral.
Long before that, however, Kennedy had made his name as an inspirational performer, featuring in Van Morrison’s Blues & Soul Revue before his breakthrough second album, 1996’s platinum-selling A Better Man.
Other career highlights include starring in Riverdance, performing at Eurovision and singing for Bill Clinton, while his recorded output has ranged from traditional Irish songs to a Joni Mitchell tribute, and his latest album, 2017’s Live At Vicar Street, finds him in as enthralling voice as ever.
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Brian Kennedy and support are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
