Come 2018, Skye’s Peatbog Faeries - twice crowned Live Act of the Year at the Scots Trad Music Awards - will have been pumping out brilliantly cosmopolitan Celtic dance music for an incredible 27 years.
Many folky groovers of a certain age will remember their 1996 debut album, Mellowosity – and/ or their early Celtic Connections appearances – as the best thing to come along since Shooglenifty, and their longevity is matched with similarly awesome consistency.
Still anchored by founding piper Peter Morrison and bassist Innes Hutton, the Faeries take the stage in the festival’s favourite setting for a spree, with a big gang of their many like-minded friends.
“One of the great Scottish festival bands” (Guardian)
A decade after his debut, Mali’s Vieux Farka Touré, much-lauded son of the late great Ali Farka Touré, released his fifth album, Samba, in 2017, displaying his pyrotechnic guitar prowess and powerful vocals in a wide-ranging blend of Malian blues, praise songs, reggae, funk and rock.
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Peatbog Faeries with special guest Vieux Farka Touré are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
