About David Foley & Jack Smedley with Heather Downie

Founding members of the mighty RURA, multi-instrumentalist David Foley and fiddler Jack Smedley recently branched out as a duo, performing an all-original repertoire that draws on their respective roots in Glasgow’s Irish community and Scotland’s north-east, together with a shared breadth of musical tastes. They’re accompanied by guitarist Jenn Butterworth, and John Lowrie on keyboards and drums.

Harpist, pianist and singer Heather Downie, inspired as a child by the late Martyn Bennett, is a first-class RSAMD graduate, and member of up-and-coming quartet Top Floor Taivers. Launching her debut solo album, Nae Sweets for Shy Bairns, she’s joined by its producer Corrina Hewat, with Tia Files on guitar and percussion.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for David Foley & Jack Smedley with Heather Downie are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
