About Winter Words 2017: New Writing Triple Bill

Winter Words is In Motion Theatre Company's festival of new work for the winter season, taking place at the bungo in Glasgow's Southside from Friday 1st - Sunday 3rd December 2017. Join us at our pop-up studio theatre for a line-up of children's theatre, new writing, live music and more.

A triple bill of new work from Jo Lennie, Andrew McLinden & Mhairi Quinn, taking place on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd December.

'Ours is Better Than Yours' by Mhairi Quinn

Do you ever find yourself looking online over the winter period and feeling a sense of dread that Michelle from down the street has ‘Bought, wrapped and stashed' all her Christmas presents just in time for Halloween? If yes then you will strike a chord with this story.

Ours is Better Than Yours looks at the types of 'Chritmasses’ that exist only on social media and the lies we tell to make sure everyone knows WE ARE HAVING A REALLY REALLY GREAT TIME, HONESTLY!

'Negatives' by Jo Lennie

How well do you really know your family and friends? Alice’s husband is in prison, her daughter’s had to leave home and they’re both dreaming of a fresh start. But what do the neighbours think?

Extracts from a new play about the impact of crime in the suburbs and the interweaving of secrets, lies and everyday lives revealed through a series of monologues.

'uPhone' by Andrew McLinden

Eddie Chores, aka the Devil, opens up a small mobile phone shop in Glasgow. He starts to sell a new product called the uPhone. This magical, malevolent, mobile phone has some strange and unnerving technical features which bring out the very worst in people.

This event will run for approximately two hours, including a 15 minute interval.

Tickets: £7.50 online (via our website) or on the door - booking in advance recommended.
