About People Make Christmas Workshops & Events

Sunday 3rd December: Pieced Together
10am - 3pm
A patchwork drop-in workshop run by Decent Projects, come join us to learn basic sewing skills, and help to create the patchwork tablecloth to be used on Christmas day. All ages and abilities welcome.

Sunday 3rd December: Cracker Making
2pm - 4pm
A drop in workshop for children and parents run by Make, Do and Grow. Decorate and assemble a number of crackers, take a few home, and leave some to contribute to the People Make Christmas dinner table.

Sunday 10th December: Christmas Storybooks
11am - 12.30pm
A bookmaking workshop for little hands, come and make your own Christmas storybook. Create a story and illustrate it, leave it in the cafe for people to enjoy throughout December, make a second book to take home. Run by bookbinder and illustrator Gillian Stewart.

Sunday 10th December: Winter Wilderness Tales
2pm - 4pm
An afternoon of Scottish stories from the wilds led by Storyteller Rona MacDonald. Everyone welcome.

Sunday 10th December: Festive Singing
4.30pm - 6.30pm
A 'no pressure' singing workshop for grown ups. Learn songs from around the world, and sing some popular festive songs to help warm up on a cold winters' night. Whether you have sung before or not, come along and learn a few techniques about how to use, project and protect your voice. Run by musician Amy MacDougall.

Sunday 17th December: Make The Tree
10am - 4pm
This will be no ordinary Christmas tree - be a part of the collective effort of sanding, painting and drilling that will create the People Make Christmas Tree! A creative, participatory workshop run by Baxendale. No experience necessary, all ages and abilities welcome.

Sunday 17th December: Gingerbread Time
2pm - 4pm
A drop in gingerbread making and decorating workshop. For those who want to keep baking at home we'll also be giving away free gingerbread making kits. All ages welcome.

Sunday 24th December: Christmas Concert
7pm - 9.30pm
An evening of song and performance from a variety of local artists and groups. Get in the Christmas mood with warming spiced drinks and festive song. A great way to meet people before the Christmas meal.

Monday 25th December: Christmas Day
Midday - 6pm
Visit us for lunch or stay a little longer. A warm and friendly place to be on Christmas Day for anyone who needs it, for whatever reason. Expect a warm welcome, great food, and comfort. Contact info@decentprojects.com to request a free transport service.

What is People Make Christmas?
Christmas can be a challenging time. Not everyone has somewhere to go and enjoy the day. People Make Christmas aims to bring communities together through workshops and events in Glasgow throughout December. And on Christmas Day, will be a place to come and enjoy the day with food, comfort, and a warm welcome.
