Happy New Year, Punk! Kicking off the new incarnation of Rock It!... For Charity, we've got a punk fundraiser for Newlife the Charity for Disabled Children, who help families all over the UK, including right here in Glasgow (see below quote), get what they need to receive medical treatment and generally have a more comfortable life. They also help fund research into the treatment and prevention of birth defects, so with January being Birth Defect Prevention month, it's the perfect time to help support them.
"We help children in Glasgow and we guarantee that every penny you raise would be spent on their equipment needs. Over the years we have helped 86 children in the Glasgow area with £137,898 of vital equipment, such as wheelchairs, car seats and specialist beds. At present we are helping 6 families in Glasgow who urgently need equipment for their children totalling £5,550. Any contribution towards this is always appreciated as every penny counts."
- Chris Fielding, New Life representative
Keep in mind that the gig is still FREE ENTRY but we'll be kicking about with donation buckets on the night, donations are entirely voluntary but greatly appreciated.
There's also a fundraiser page, which charges NO FEES and even rewards you every time you donate (more info on the page):
