A workshop for the whole family to enjoy every Saturday afternoon. Don't miss the chance to get creative and have some family fun whilst exploring our fascinating museum stores in an interactive way.
6th October: When I was wee
Join in and explore some of the traditional street games school children played in a by gone time. Go on, have a laugh and take part in games and explore what toys your grandparents used to play with.
13th October: African Beats
Explore African music and its influence on the Caribbean. Then listen, play and make African and Caribbean instruments to celebrate Black History Month.
20th October: Witches and Warlocks
Make your own magic paper hat and cape and learn some magic tricks after being on our spine tingling spooky stores tour.
27th October: Monstrous Masks
Discover some of the creepier objects in our collection then create a Halloween mask inspired by them.
3rd November: Blast off
Calling all intrepid space explorers! Join us on our journey through the solar system, make your own rocket and create some alien slime!
10th November: Dove of Peace
To help us celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the end of WWI, take a look at the artefacts in our collection and find out why the dove became a symbol of peace.
17th November: Festivals of Light
During Scottish Interfaith week, help us celebrate festivals of light with a range of fantastic arts and crafts with an eastern influence.
24th November: Balsa Wood Boats
Take a look at our amazing model ships then create and sail your own yacht from balsa wood.
1st December: Paper Plate Santa
Make your own jolly paper plate Santa for our Christmas tree this festive season. Enjoy a tour of our amazing collections with a seasonal twist.
8th December: Festive Lanterns
Illuminate these dark winter nights with a handmade decorative lantern inspired by our dazzling collection
15th & 22nd December: Festive Decorations
Embrace all things festive by making your own Christmas decorations and make your home a winter wonderland!
Glasgow Museums welcomes families and children of all ages and all our venues are FREE to visit.
Our displays and exhibitions are designed with families in mind, so you’ll always find something interesting to explore when you visit.
Events are FREE unless otherwise stated.
