On Sundays, join us for some special themed handling sessions. Get up close to real museum objects and learn about the history behind them!
Suitable for all ages.
Sunday 7th & Sunday 14th October: Black History Month
Join us for our special Glassford Portrait themed talk and handling sessions, where we will explore Glasgow’s historic connections to the slave trade.
Thursday 11th October: If paintings could talk – the Glassford Family Portrait and the story it tells
Prompt start at 11am
As part of Black History month find out more about the mysterious Glassford Family Portrait and its ever evolving story, with Curator Tony Lewis.
Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th November: Special Remembrance themed object handling session
1.30pm – 4pm
To mark this day of remembrance, join us for a WW1 and WW2 themed object handling session.
Glasgow Museums welcomes families and children of all ages and all our venues are FREE to visit.
