Pity Party Film Club: Blue in the Face

About Pity Party Film Club: Blue in the Face

A mid-90s collaboration between Wayne Wang and celebrated author Paul Auster, 'Blue in the Face' examines the colourful lives of the employees and patrons of a Brooklyn cigar shop. Playing out as a series of lyrical vignettes, this uniquely comic film sees a host of idiosyncratic Brooklynites navigating the world and waxing esoteric on the merits of baseball, cigarettes and Belgian Waffles.

Featuring music by David Byrne of Talking Heads and unforgettable appearances from RuPaul, Madonna, Lou Reed, Roseanne Barr, Lily Tomlin and Jim Jarmusch, this often-overlooked cult favourite offers a snapshot of a diverse, outlandish Brooklyn that teems with unrestrained life.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Pity Party Film Club: Blue in the Face are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
