Tuesday 20th March: Art of Eastern Europe
Discover the works by East European artists of the 20th century living under Nazism and Communism, but also by those who emigrated to Britain and significantly enriched local culture.

Tuesday 27th March: Ship Models in Detail
Our famous ship model collection is usually kept behind glass, but this is an opportunity to get close to the amazing detail of two of our finest models.

Tuesday 3rd April: Music around the World
Music is an essential part of all cultures, expressed in many ways. Our World Cultures Curator will introduce you to some of the varied and fascinating musical instruments from around the world.

Tuesday 10th April: Photographing Glasgow- Oscar Marzaroli
Oscar Marzaroli’s photographs of Glasgow have become iconic images of his home city. Join curator Fiona Hayes to see and discuss Glasgow Museums recent acquisition of Oscar Marzaroli photographs of 1960s Glasgow, purchased with the assistance of the National Fund for Acquisitions.

Tuesday 17th April: Highlights of the Geology Collection
The geology collection tells the fascinating story of Scotland over millions of years. Travel back in time to explore weird and wonderful fossil creatures, and past landscapes of Scotland.

Tuesday 24th April: Poisonous Creatures
Many creatures have evolved toxins to protect them from predators and to help them prey on others. See some examples in our natural history collection.

Tuesday 1st May: Recording Workers and Labour in Art
On 1st May, many countries around the world celebrate the 'International Worker's Day', also known as 'Labour Day'. Discover various artistic impressions of Workers and Labour in our museum stores.

Tuesday 8th May: Ships of world War 1
Glasgow built ships played an important role in World War 1 from the English Channel to Galliopi. Find out more with reference to our extensive ship model collection.

Tuesday 15th May: Timespan: Tam Joseph
Timespan by Tam Joseph (b.1947, Dominica) is an important painting in our collection. This tour will give an insight into this work, his painting practice and influences.

Tuesday 22nd May: Behind the Scenes; Paintings and Frames Conservation
This tour will give an insight into the wide range of ever changing activities that Paintings and Frames conservation are involved with. We will give a guided tour behind the scenes of the Paintings and Frames studios with reference to recent work, ongoing and upcoming projects.

Tuesday 29th May: The People who Donated our paintings
From the late nineteenth century, paintings currently stored at GMRC were donated to Glasgow Museums. The Donors came from all walks of life. Come along and hear some of their stories beside the paintings they donated.

Tuesday 5th June: The Police Collection at GMRC
Cop a load of this! Come and see police related paintings,equipment and badges with interesting stories of Glasgow's influence on policing.

Tuesday 12th June: Imagining the past and the future through the natural history collections.
Come and see what our natural history collections tell us about the Glasgow area in the past, what changes have taken place and the future of our fauna and flora.

Tuesday 19th June: Female Artists @ GMRC
Exploring known and unknown works by women artists. A great opportunity ti explore hidden treasures of the art collection from an ongoing research and exploration of the collection.

Tuesday 26th June: The Progression of Projectiles
Investigate our Arms and Armour collection to see how human beings have progressed from the thrown rock to firearms.

Tuesday 10th July: Exploring the Sculpture Collection
This tour will give an insight into the collection of sculptures the museum holds as part of its art collection.

Tuesday 24th July: Art Extraordinary
From psychiatric hospitals from Victorian era to the present day, astonishing art emerged. Hospital bed sheets to welly boots, these artists have transformed the everyday into extraordinary art.

Tuesday 31st July: Rome at the GMRC
Explore a collection of objects that give an insight into the Roman way of life.

Tuesday 7th August: Theatre, Circus and Performance in Art
‘Performers were frequently the subject of art, whether circus, theatre or dance. This tour will look at a variety of artworks by artists including Joseph Crawhall, Phil May and James McNeill Whistler.’

Tuesday 14th August: The People who Donated our paintings

Tuesday 31st August: Scottish Co-operative Society Women's Guild Banners
An opportunity to examine Glasgow Museums’ collection of Scottish Co-operative Women’s Guild banners, discover the stories behind them and how we are looking after them. The Scottish Co-operative Women’s Guild was described as a ‘working class women’s university’ and the banners reflect the interests and locations of the guilds.

Tuesday 28th August: Introduction to Ship Models
If you are a model maker, maritime enthusiast or have an interest in local history you will enjoy this introduction to our wonderful collection of 'Clyde Built' ship models.
