Citizens Theatre presents A Christmas Carol

About Citizens Theatre presents A Christmas Carol

Ebenezer Scrooge is a notoriously bitter old man who is determined not to let Christmas interfere with his miserly routine. A feared figure throughout the streets of London he is unmoved by any pleas for charity. But one Christmas Eve, Scrooge receives some unexpected supernatural visitors who are determined to show him the error of his ways.

This bold adaptation captures the original heart of Charles Dickens’ beloved tale with a twist of the Citizens’ famous theatrical flair. The 5-star production was a sell out in 2014 and enchanted families and adults alike, who loved the inventive storytelling, atmospheric set design, mesmirising puppetry and live music.

A Christmas Carol will be presented at Tramway while the Citizens Theatre undergoes a major redevelopment project. Their team will be refreshing the production for our contemporary performance space, and you can still expect the same distinctive style and captivating story that makes Citizens’ Christmas shows so special.
