In the two hour hand-building workshop you will be shown a basic technique with which to make at least two forms (including a bottle/vase/organic vessel and a pinch bowl). You'll return two weeks later to glaze and raku fire your pots outside in the Project Studio courtyard. This course is an ideal introduction to working with clay for those with little or no experience. If already experienced at hand-building you may develop your own projects (where suitable). So called ‘Western’ raku employs a fast method of firing and can produce unpredictable and colourful results.

Nicola is a ceramic artist based in Glasgow. Having taken up ceramics through evening classes in 2010 she commuted from Glasgow to Newcastle College one day a week for three years, receiving an FdA (Distinction) in Contemporary Ceramic Practice in 2013. She joined the Glasgow Ceramics Studio in 2014 and graduated with a first class BA Hons degree in Contemporary Art Practice from City of Glasgow College in 2016. Nicola has exhibited work both in Scotland and England.
