Harry Benson: From Glasgow to America

About Harry Benson: From Glasgow to America

Scottish born photo-journalist Harry Benson arrived in America with the Beatles in 1964. Harry has photographed every U.S. President from Eisenhower to Donald Trump; was just feet away from Bobby Kennedy the night he was assassinated; in the room with Richard Nixon the night he resigned; on the Meredith March with Martin Luther King, Jr., next to Coretta Scott King at her husband's funeral; on manoeuvres with the IRS; was there when the Berlin Wall went up and when it came down; and covered the aftermath of Katrina in New Orleans.

In this exhibition we bring together photographs from his native Glasgow alongside images created during an illustrious career in America.

Exhibition Dates: 19 May 2018 - 31 March 2019

Entry to the exhibition is included with admission to Pollok House, normal admission charges apply.

It should be noted that the gallery space is only accessible via one flight of stairs. Please call ahead should you require any further information and we will be happy to help.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Harry Benson: From Glasgow to America are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
