About Hotpoint Fresh Thinking Roadshow

A custom-built mobile kitchen will be visiting Glasgow this Christmas to help Scots to think differently about the food and leftovers in their fridges. The Fresh Thinking Roadshow, a nationwide initiative launched by Hotpoint, has been touring the country and will visit Silverburn Shopping Centre on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th December.

During its two-day residency, the roadshow will offer festive food hacks, tip and tricks, as well as leftovers cooking demos and interactive games.

New research has found that 39 per cent of Brits admit they waste food and 65 percent say it is an issue that worries them. More than 7 in 10 (74 per cent) say they feel personally responsible for the impact food waste is having on the environment, yet UK households are throwing away enough food to amount to £271.44 per household every year.

Further research reveals that British households throw away 4.2 million Christmas dinners during every festive season. That’s the equivalent of 263,000 turkeys, 7.5 million mince pies, 17.2 million Brussel sprouts, 11.9 million carrots and 740,000 servings of Christmas pudding.2

Of those surveyed by Hotpoint, one third (36 per cent) said wasting food leaves them feeling ‘guilty’, a quarter (24 per cent) feeling ‘frustrated’ and 16 per cent feeling ‘disorganised’. Almost one in four (23 per cent) Brits said that information on how to be creative in the kitchen would be useful to help them to reduce food waste.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Hotpoint Fresh Thinking Roadshow are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
