About Glasgow Cocktail Week

Now running for seven days - Monday 23 - Sunday 29th September, we'll once again bring together Glasgow’s best venues, delicious drinks, parties and even bigger events to celebrate mixology.

Cocktail kings and queens can discover our new fun Cocktail World with ten free cocktails, pop-up cocktail bars, interactive activations, street food from Platform at Argyle St Arches and a host of DJs.

This year we've partnered with World Class to showcase some of the world's best bartenders and World Class drinks in all your favourite venues!

Talisker Whisky Dinner

When: Sunday 22 September
Where: Gamba, 225A West George Street, G2 2ND
Time: 7pm for a 7.30pm start

Celebrate the end of the summer with Gamba’s specially curated Made By the Sea – Talisker Whisky Dinner.
The iconic seafood restaurant will partner with Talisker, one of Scotland’s oldest single malt distilleries, to bring together the exclusive dinner. The evening will be hosted by Talisker Single Malt Whisky Ambassador TJ Littlejohn, who will introduce expressions and drinks that he has created to pair perfectly with the menu.
Guests will enjoy canapes and a Talisker apple highball on arrival, before enjoying some exquisite seafood – from peat-smoked fish pate to Isle of Gigha halibut.
The evening costs £50pp and includes canapes, four courses, three cocktails, two drams, coffee & whisky tablet.

Casamigos House of Friends Dinner Party

When: Monday 23 September
Where: Five March, 140 Edlerslie St, Glasgow, G3 7QF
Time: First sitting 7pm, second sitting 9pm

The latest restaurant to open its doors in Glasgow’s trendy West End, Five March will welcome Casamigos for an evening of eclectic cuisine and outstanding drinks.

Café Belsazar

When: 23-27 September
Where: Kelvingrove Café, 1161 Argyll Street, Glasgow, G3 8TB

Based in Berlin, Belsazar is a new premium wine aperitif that combines traditional traits and craftsmanship with an urban and modern lifestyle. Café Belsazar will open from Monday 23 September, taking over Kelvingrove Café from a week of exceptional events.
The week will kick off with the Belsazar Breakfast (Monday 23, 9am), where guests can enjoy a relaxed breakfast hosted by Belsazar Brand Ambassadors. To learn more about the liquid, guests are invited to attend the Lunch & Learn session (Monday 23, 1pm), where they’ll be treated to a full tasting and classic cocktail demo.
Every evening, Café Belsazar will welcome a different industry leader to host their very own Aperitivo Hour (Monday 23 – Friday 27, 4pm-7pm) involving a host of bespoke cocktails and complimentary snack - the perfect spot for a post-work drink.
The Night Shift will then kick off from 8pm-1am each night, with the likes of World Class 2010 Winner, Eric Lorincz, GB World Class 2016 winner, Aidan Bowie, and esteemed European mixologist and foraging specialist, Matt Whiley, taking over the bar for an evening of outstanding drinks.

BlackTail Night Shift

When: Thursday 26 September
Where: Kelvingrove Café, 1161 Argyll Street, Glasgow, G3 8TB
Time: 8pm – Midnight

Coinciding with the World Class live final at neighbouring venue SWG3, Kelvingrove Café will welcome bartenders from New York’s renowned BlackTail bar, who will be serving up bespoke cocktails all night.
Heading up the BlackTail team will be Aidan Bowie, previous World Class GB Champion who represented the country in 2016 at the global finals in Miami. Making his return to Glasgow, Aiden first began his career in The Blythswood Hotel, also working at The Finnieston and Kelvingrove Café before making a move to the award-winning Dandelyan in London.

One Trick Pony Night Shift

When: Friday 27 September
Where: Kelvingrove Café, 1161 Argyll Street, Glasgow, G3 8TB
Time: 8pm – Midnight

Kicking off the weekend in style, the team from the award-winning German Mixology Powerhouse, One Trick Pony will be taking over the bar at Kelvingrove Café, serving up a range of delicious drinks.

Ketel One Brunch

When: Saturday 28 September
Where: The 158 Club Lounge at Hutchesons City Grill
Time: 12pm-3pm

Cocktails and brunch set in the glamorous Club Lounge at Hutchesons.
UK brand ambassador Kate Jackson will be hosting an exclusive Ketel One brunch in the luxurious 158 Club Lounge during Glasgow Cocktail Week. Taking guests on a botanical journey matched with Scottish brunch classics, the event will be accompanied by a DJ soundtrack and includes three courses plus three creative Ketel One serves.

El Cartel takeover at The Gate

When: 27 – 29 September
Where: The Gate, 251 Gallowgate, Glasgow, G4 0TP
Time: 12noon-10pm

Bringing a piece of Mexican sunshine to Glasgow, Scotland’s multi award-winning restaurant, El Cartel, will be taking over East End bar The Gate for a weekend of tacos and tequila.
Expect delicious Mexican street food paired with Don Julio margaritas.
Wednesday 25 September: Cocktail Safari

Scotland’s National Treasure

When: Wednesday 25 September
Where: Radisson Red, 25 Tunnel Street, Finnieston Quay, Glasgow, G3 8HL
Time: 5pm-2am

With panoramic views over Glasgow’s River Clyde, Scotland’s four World Class top 100 finalists will show off the best that the country has to offer in the Radisson Red Sky Bar.
Ryan Snedden of Lucky Liquor, Jonny Arthur of Bramble, Tigerlilly’s Matty Galloway and Drew Gray from Glasgow’s The Finnieston will be shaking things up behind the bar until the wee hours, for a night of great drinks ahead of the World Class live final.
It would only be fitting that whisky takes centre stage, so guests will enjoy a number of drinks from homegrown giant Johnnie Walker – putting a modern twist on Scotland’s national drink.

Triple Threat – World Class Social

When: Wednesday 25 September
Where: Kelvingrove Café, 1161 Argyle Street, Glasgow, G3 8TB
Time: 8pm-Midnight

The world’s leading bartenders will be let loose in Kelvingrove Café.
The ‘Triple Threat’ team will be made up of World Class finalists Kaitlyn Stewart, Orlando Marzo and Tim Philips, who will be looking after guests upstairs – serving up a curated menu of Blesazar cocktails and futuristic scotch drinks made with Singleton and Johnnie Walker.
Downstairs will feature the ‘Smokey Cokey Bar’ and will be hosted by The Pot Still’s very own Frank Murphy along with World Class judge Dave Broom. The boys will have the entire Diageo malt whisky portfolio behind the bar, giving guests a true Glasgow malt experience. Expect lots of laughs, exceptional service and even whisky and coke on tap!

Ketel One Kitchen Disco

When: Wednesday 25 September
Where: KRU (above The Finnieston), 1125 Argyll Street, Glasgow, G3 8ND
Time: 7pm-2am

Hidden above The Finnieston, the Ketel One take-over at KRU is not to be missed.
Featuring nine of the UK’s best bartenders from across the country, the Ketel One Kitchen Disco will serve up original drinks created especially for the Ketel One Square Mile project – a community-driven approach to sourcing ingredients and working locally to create cocktails.
Guests will taste from an eclectic and inspiring menu that showcases the unique communities hiding in plain sight all across the UK, from Nottingham to London - Edinburgh to Essex.
The takeover will also see the launch of the first secret late-night Kitchen Disco speakeasy, hidden somewhere within the walls of KRU, complete with DJs, disco balls and much more.

Tartan Tiki

When: Wednesday 25 September
Where: Tiki Bar, 214 Bath Street, Glasgow, G2 4HW
Time: 7pm-11.30pm

Glasgow’s iconic Tiki Bar will be opening its doors to some of the world’s best and most experiential bartenders.
World Class 2017 winner, Jennifer le Nechet, Licoreria Limantour boss Benjamin Padron and Tayēr + Elementary’s owner and leading bartender, Monica Berg, will be taking over the Glasgow hotspot for an evening of delicious cocktails.

Kwant vs Flying Dutchman

When: Wednesday 25 September
Where: Dakota Hotel, 179 West Regent Street, Glasgow, G2 4DP
Time: 7pm-11.30pm

For one night only, luxury Glasgow venue Dakota will bring together some of the best success stories from World Class behind one bar.
Guests can experience some of the world’s best cocktails from London’s Mayfair bar Kwant, headed up by World Class 2010 Winner Eric Lorincz, as well as signature serves from Amsterdam’s renowned Flying Dutchmen, from owner Tess Posthumus.
Renowned bartender and ‘Global Cocktailian’, Lauren Mote, will also be behind the bar, serving up a host of drinks using the finest ingredients, with spirits including Johnnie Walker, Casamigos, Tanqueray 10 and Belsazar all on the menu.

Between a Rock and a Hard Place

When: Wednesday 25 September
Where: The Gate, 251 Gallowgate, Glasgow, G4 0TP
Time: 7pm- Midnight

Glasgow’s most exciting new bar The Gate joins forces with the world's most innovative whisky bar Black Rock to showcase Scotland’s national spirit.
Black Rock owners, the multi-award-winning Tristan Stephenson and Tom Aske, Black Rock GM Thom Solberg and drinks industry stalwart Andy Gemmell will collaborate on experimental whisky serves based around six flavour profiles as well as challenging guests senses during the takeover, all to the soundtrack of some dirty hip hop beats.

Finnieston Martini Service

When: Wednesday 25 September
Where: The Finnieston, 1125 Argyll Street, Glasgow, G3 8ND

Legendary Mixologist at The Connaught, Agostino Perrone, and Spain’s World Class 2013 Winner, David Rios, will run a special Martini service at Glasgow gin and seafood hotspot, The Finnieston.
Perfect for gin lovers, guests can expect and array of tasty Tanqueray No. Ten treats, paired with more oysters than you can shuck a stick at!

World Whisky on the Campaign Trail

When: Wednesday 25 September
Where: Porter & Rye, 1131 Argyll Street, Glasgow, G3 8ND
Time: 7.30pm-1am

For whisky lovers, this is an event not to be missed.
For one night only, drinks legends Charles Joly and Julie Renier will deliver a special menu at Porter & Rye, showcasing the wonderful world of whisky.
Former winner of World Class, Charles has received a wealth of industry praise throughout his career, as well as being named one of Bon Appetit’s 10 Most Influential Bartenders. Julie opened New York’s iconic Flatiron Lounge in 2003 with her latest venture, Leyenda, named as one of the top 100 best bars in the world 2018.
Guests will be in safe hands as the American duo talk through the length and breadth of Diageo’s whisky portfolio, along with an intimate tasting and carefully curated menu in one of the city’s best bars.

Highball Izakya Basement

Time: 7.30pm-11.30pm

Dubbed as Japan’s ‘three wise men’, the immensely talented Hidetsuga Uneo, Michito Kaneko and Manabu Ohtake will present World Class highballs in Glasgow’s favourite speakeasy, Wheesht.
Famous for off-the-cuff experimental cocktails, the trio will takeover Wheesht and give it a Japanese twist – immaculate fizzy scotch drinks and World Class service guaranteed.

Three Sheets at Five March

London’s hippest bar meets Glasgow’s hippest restaurant.
Max Venning of Three Sheets, a neighbourhood café bar in Dalston, together with Johnnie Walker Brand Ambassador, Ali Reynolds, will take over Five March for a spectacular evening of drinks – showcasing a selection of Johnnie Walker signature highballs.
