Motion Triggers – Interactive Sculpture with Jennifer Sykes
Saturdays | 1030 – 1400
1st & 8th June
Using simple motion sensors Motion Triggers aims to explore more detailed methods of triggering lighting or sound via movement that could be applied to installation and performance practices. Over two sessions you’ll experiment with various interactions such as; distance sensing, gestural sensing and creating interactive zones.
As part of this workshop, you will assemble a bespoke printed circuit board which includes a micro-controller and motion sensor (the cost of which is included in the course price). You’ll then get to keep this one-off circuit and parts at the end of the workshop for future use.
This workshop is aimed at an intermediate level taking practical methods into more detail than our Interactive Sculpture evening classes. As such participants are asked to have either already completed one of these courses or to have had an initial familiarity with software such as Arduino or Processing. You don’t need to be a programming whizz to get the most out of the workshop but the Arduino environment shouldn’t be brand new to you either. If you have any doubt about your level of experience, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Motion Triggers - Interactive Sculpture with Jennifer Sykes are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
