About Kaite Welsh - The Wages of Sin

Sarah Gilchrist flees to Edinburgh in disgrace determined to become a doctor, despite the misgivings of her family and society. Part of the University of Edinburgh's first intake of female medical students, Sarah comes up against resistance from lecturers, male contemporaries, and her fellow women. When one of her patients turns up in the dissecting room as a battered corpse, Sarah finds herself drawn into a dangerous underworld.

The evening starts with registration from 6:30pm with the talk due to start at 7pm.
