Promoting a Culture of Belonging in Further and Higher Education

About Promoting a Culture of Belonging in Further and Higher Education

The workshop aims to uncover new understandings on the theme of belonging by:

• Examining current thinking around how ‘a culture of belonging’ contributes to student learning, retention and resilience

• Exchanging experiences of alienation and belonging in educational situations

• Investigating how current polarising political, social, economic and ecological tensions mitigate against free speech and are detrimental to a culture of belonging

• Proposing practical strategies to promote an inclusive culture of belonging for everyone.
