Participants will learn how to compose beautiful bridal bouquets, intricate floral accessories, create centrepieces, style tables, and how to build a large-scale floral installation. We will also explore how to reflect the season and the setting, develop a colour palette, and use props to complete your floral styling.
This course is designed to give participants an intensive creative experience and practical lessons on how to create floral designs for weddings and events in a wild and natural style. Perfect for those who wish to style their own wedding flowers or for floristry students who wish to pursue a career in wedding and event floristry.
Learn how to create a beautiful and romantic bridal bouquet using the spiral technique and master the art of wiring to create beautiful boutonnieres and flower crowns.
Learn how to create focal displays, table arrangements and centrepieces as well as the art of table styling. We will demonstrate and guide participants through a large wild urn arrangement using chicken wire and moss. In the afternoon, we will learn how to compose wild, sprawling centrepieces using the finest seasonal flowers. Then using a range of props we will style a mock-up wedding ‘tablescape’ with flower-filled bottles, mixed-height vessels, fabrics, fruit, foliage, and candles.
As a team, we will collaboratively work to create and decorate a large-scale floral ceremony archway using an armature of twisting branches and layering with seasonal garden-grown flowers. We will share our unique approach to constructing installations for weddings and events including the creative design and practical mechanics that go into building large constructions without the use of floral foam. Learn how to create an impressive and solid design with alternative and eco-friendly materials, methods and tools as well as how to troubleshoot and provide hidden hydration for flowers and foliage to keep them looking their best for as long as possible. We will share all of our tried-and-tested techniques for building wild and loose installations such as floral arches, hanging installations and ceremony backdrops.
