Whether you are a Viking or a chivalrous knight, come along and create your very own shield. You'll learn how to create a wood grain effect, how to weather, detail and even rust your piece, and of course how to create EPIC battle damage!
Suitable for complete beginners with all materials and equipment supplied, this hands-on day long workshop will be made up of a small number of students who will each have an opportunity to be make their very own realistic, durable and lightweight prop shield.
Working primarily with products from Poly-Props Ltd, which in our opinion are the best foams and products on the market, students will be shown the tools, techniques and tricks for making impressive props with practical demonstrations which they will in turn use to produce their own piece from start to finish. Students will be taught how to replicate wood grain with foam, and they will be introduced to the art of stretched-metal effect.
Students will work their way through the various stages including:
• Template creation
• Build planning
• Hand and power tool techniques
• Sealing and painting
All theories, techniques and principles that will be discussed and demonstrated throughout the day will be transferable to a range of other material, allowing the creation of more robust props or even masters for molding and casting.
Feel free to join the Sorenzo Workshops Facebook Group to discuss prop selection and any aspect of any upcoming workshops.
