Writers’ HQ: Procrastination-Busting Writing Retreat

Writers' HQ's famous one-day, procrastination-busting writing retreats come to Glasgow this June!

Writers’ HQ: Procrastination-Busting Writing Retreat

About Writers’ HQ: Procrastination-Busting Writing Retreat

We’ll help you set your personal writing goal for the day and longer term. We’ll talk about your successes and blocks. And then you write. And write. And write. There's a score board, gold stars, sandwiches, cake, tea (or/and coffee!), and supportive competitiveness will help you reach your targets, break you out of your bad habits, and get your writing moving. No distractions. No excuses. Just writing. Perfect.

The retreat runs from 10:00am - 4:00pm and costs £37. Lunch and snacks are included. The retreat takes place in Woodlands Workspace @ Woodlands Community Garden (117 W Prince’s Street, Glasgow, G4 9BY).

The Glasgow retreat is run by Melissa Reid. Melissa is a curious writer, reader, and photograph-taker who lives by the sea and drinks more tea than water. She recently completed a PhD in Creative Writing (ooh, fancy) at the University of Strathclyde and is currently revising the coming-of-age novel that she began as part of that. Her work – both fiction and creative nonfiction – has been published several places, including being broadcast on BBC Radio 4. During her PhD, Melissa founded Quotidian Literary Magazine, and since 2015, she has been teaching Creative Writing to undergrads and masters students at Strathclyde. She keeps an observational blog (www.somethingnoticed.com) which is sort of a love letter to the ordinary.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Writers’ HQ: Procrastination-Busting Writing Retreat are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
