Soufra, the inspirational story of Mariam Shaar, a generational refugee determined to change her life in the Burj El Barajneh camp in Lebanon by launching a catering company. Screening preceded by a community meal, with special treats concocted by social enterprise Soul Food Sisters.
The event is free to attend; the meal is offered on a pay-what-you-can basis to cover catering costs and support Soul Food Sisters, a not-for-profit organisation bringing together women from all over the world to end social isolation and empower them to develop their talents – in the kitchen and beyond.
