Discover Digital: Self Management and Care

About Discover Digital: Self Management and Care

How can we harness the power of digital to look after our health and wellbeing, on our own terms?

This is the question we will explore together, on the final day on Self Management Week, which also marks the launch of our 2019 edition of Discover Digital.

This will be a day suitable for all ages, dedicated to health and wellbeing. Together we will discover some of the ways in which digital tools can help us look after ourselves, now and in the future.

Free ticket includes Day Entry to Glasgow Science Centre (without Add Ons).

Programme
Stalls and activities will be available to visit between 10am - 3pm. Here is a snapshot of what will be available:

BCS Health and Care Scotland and Robert Gordon University will talk you through two creative self management apps for children: E-Bug and Emollizoo.

NHS 24 will keep you right with information on what services you can access and when.

NHS NSS will be reminding us of the importance of staying hydrated - how often do you #Think2Drink?

Giraffe Healthcare have developed an online physiotherapy platform. You will be able to see a demo and try some of the exercises yourself.

Carr Gomm will present two innovative apps, ClickGo and CareFree, both of which help empower people who access support, families and carers.

Other standholders include: Nesta, DHI, YoungScot, Lifescan, Ascensia, My mHealth, Talking Mats, Neatebox, ALISS, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, mPower, British Heart Foundation, NHS Ayrshire and Arran, Pharmatics and PAMIS.

Additionally, there will be a number of talks and workshops to join on the day:

10:15am: Talking Mats - "Improving health and housing outcomes for social housing tenants."

10:45am: Nesta

11:15am: Cogni Health - Demonstration of CogniCare, a digital companion for carers of people with dementia.
