Jennie Lee: From Lochgelly to The Lords

About Jennie Lee: From Lochgelly to The Lords

An exhibition exploring the life of Jennie Lee, a founder of The Open University.

Jennie Lee (1904-1988), was an MP before she was old enough to vote and was the first ever Minister for the Arts. She fought passionately for a university open to all and left a strong legacy with The Open University empowering over 2 million learners worldwide over the past 50 years. In this exhibition archive materials from the OU Jennie Lee Archive Collection, Glasgow City Archives and ONFife (Fife Cultural Trust) have been brought together for the first time, to tell the fascinating story of Jennie Lee’s life, from her childhood in Lochgelly to her final years in the House of Lords. It's a rare opportunity to see original archive materials on display.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Jennie Lee: From Lochgelly to The Lords are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
