About Dervish & Special Guests: The Great Irish Songbook
Sorry, but this event has been and gone!
The great Sligo-rooted band Dervish celebrated 30 years together in 2019, with shows including Glastonbury and the London Palladium, a Lifetime Achievement Award at The BBC Folk Awards in Manchester in October 2018 and their 14th full-length release The Great Irish Songbook.
The first fruit of their signing to top US roots label Rounder Records, the album revisits and reinvents traditional and contemporary classics from of the Irish song canon, with an array of special guests including Brendan Gleeson, David Gray, Steve Earle and Andrea Corr.
Continuing the festivities in Glasgow, the six-piece will be joined by several other artists featured on the record, among them Kate Rusby and US banjo ace/vocalist Abigail Washburn, whose husband Béla Fleck also joins the party, while Brian Kennedy and the iconic grande dame of transatlantic folk-song, the one and only Peggy Seeger, sprinkle the show with further legendary stardust.
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Dervish & Special Guests: The Great Irish Songbook are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
