The Invisible Cities Project
A performance exploring the intersection between music, spoken and physical theatre inspired by the book 'The Invisible Cities' by Italo Calvino.
About The Invisible Cities Project
Sorry, but this event has been and gone!
Join Marco Polo in an audacious journey of music, theatre and literature, discovering hidden signs, invisible threads and musical paths of cities we live in.
Thursday, 19th December at 7:30pm at the Centre for Contemporary Art in Glasgow! Tickets are £8 (£5 concessions) and you can book online via the CCA website or by following the link: www.cca-glasgow.com
The performance is inspired by Italo Calvino’s book Invisible Cities, an imaginary account that the famous Venetian traveler Marco Polo makes to the emperor of the Tartars, Kublai Kahn, about the cities spread over the immense territory of his Empire. At the boundary between reality and imagination, these accounts become a metaphor for life experiences, human emotions, desires, fears, memories and relationships hidden under the appearance of cities.
Using metaphor, like the book, as an artistic means, the project aims to talk about cities of nowadays, looking for those invisible threads that run along our cities and mirror desires, memories, sensations and relationships of inhabitants.
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for The Invisible Cities Project are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
