Storm at Celtic Connections

From the makers of Big Man Walking comes a folklore giant made-real, to kick off Coastal Connections: Festival in a Day as part of Celtic Connections 2020!

Storm at Celtic Connections

About Storm at Celtic Connections

Storm lives in the waters around Scotland, and this year she will walk on land to share maritime stories of the sea.

At ten metres tall, her eyes are the colour of oyster shells, her hair thick strands of kelp, her voice the chorus of the waves. Aided by eight puppeteers, Storm will visit the heart of towns and villages across the country, gazing down at the beauty of our coastlines, urging care for the environment every step of the way.

Storm will rise from The Clyde and bring together a tide of people as she makes her way to the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. Where will you be when she passes? Gazing from a window, down at the waterside or walking alongside her on the street.

A new feat of mechanical mastery from Edinburgh’s Vision Mechanics, Storm is an outdoor theatrical event to mark Visit Scotland’s Year of Coasts and Water 2020.

Join us at Victoria Bridge for Storm's awakening. The full route map will be published in the coming days. Follow the website for details.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Storm at Celtic Connections are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
