Lighting up February with colour and community! This annual community event will create a magical Window trail around Govan on Friday 24th February 2023. (Some windows will be lit again on Saturday 25th Feb for those who missed).
Wander around the window displays and stop off at key locations for warmth and music, a hot drink or a crafty workshop.
All residents, local businesses, local community groups, organisations and schools and nurseries are invited to make a fun/simple window display themed on ‘Govan Diversity’.
You do not need to be an artist to take part! Simple designs on black paper and brightly coloured tissue can be attached to windows. The paper takes on a magical feel when it is dark outside and inside lights are on. 3d displays can also be lit with fairy lights or lamps.
We will be running community workshops and posting videos to help guide and inspire your windows.
We will also have craft pack collection points at Make Do and Grow in Burleigh Street and the GYIP offices on Water Row (Mon-Fri 10-4.30) for all families to safely collect materials (paper, tissue and glue) and get involved.
Tell your friends and neighbours and ask them to get involved!
