For the last 10 years I have also been taking various classed in stained glass, glass painting & fused glass both in my own workshop & in other locations.
The courses I run nowadays are all taken in my working studio, which is 30 mins from Glasgow city centre in Dumbarton. I have a relaxed style of tuition and, while we’re always working towards ensuring that you’ve created something in the allotted time, I like to ensure that everyone has fun. My courses contain a maximum of 8 people, which allows me to spend as much time as is required with everyone in the group.
I generally run 1-day & 2-day courses over the weekend, and hold shorter glass workshops during the week. The courses are suitable for anyone over the age of 12, and I have full public liability insurance.
STAINED GLASS WORKSHOPS
The stained glass classes all take place in my working studio, which is 20-30 mins from Glasgow, in Dumbarton. My courses contain a maximum of 8 people, which allows me to spend as much time as is required with everyone in the group.
I try to ensure that the lessons are always relaxed & fun, but that you still end the course with a new skill and a piece of art that you can be proud of.
In the stained glass classes, we cover all of the basics, which includes: designs, glass cutting, glass painting, leadwork, soldering, cementing, brushing & polishing glass etc.
Whether you book into the 1-day or 2-day stained glass workshop, you’ll have created your own stained glass panel, by the end of the day or weekend.
GLASS FUSING CLASSES
In simple terms, glass fusing is simply the process of stacking two or more layers of compatible glass together to make a design. The stacked glass is placed in the super heated environment of a kiln where it melts together. This technique can be used to produce a variety of objects & the design is only limited by your imagination.
The glass fusing classes all take place in my working studio, which is 20-30 mins from Glasgow, in Dumbarton. There’s a maximum of 8 people on a course, which means that it’s easy to have 1-2-1 time with everyone taling part.
The glass fusing workshops are of varying lengths, but all are suitable for total beginners.
I try to ensure that the lessons are always fun & relaxed, but that you still end the course with a new skill and a piece of art that you can be proud of.
In the fused glass classes, we cover all of the basics, which include: creating designs, glass cutting, building the design etc.
