About Glasgow Wildfest 2016
This year, the theme of the festival is ‘nature’s architects’ in honour of the Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design. The full programme of events for 2016 has just been released, offering over 40 walks, talks, community days, workshops, picnics and general wild fun for all the family to try! Events will take place at sites all over Glasgow from parks to gardens and even shopping centres, and the fun lasts from September 1-30.
New this year, there’s a sound installation from artist Luca Nasciuti, who’ll also be running sound walks in Kelvingrove Park. We’re also welcoming several new venues, which will be taking part in the festival for the first time.
Glasgow Wildfest is part of Giving Nature a Home in Glasgow, an RSPB Scotland initiative which aims to re-connect people with Glasgow’s urban green spaces. It’s a collaborative effort between RSPB Scotland, Glasgow City Council, community groups, gardens and other organisations, encouraging everyone to explore Glasgow’s green spaces and create more homes for nature.
