About The University Of Glasgow School Of Veterinary Medicine
The School of Veterinary Medicine is located on the 80 hectare Garscube campus at the Northwest boundary of the city of Glasgow, four miles from the University’s Gilmorehill campus. The School was founded in 1862 and gained independent Faculty status in 1969. In 2010 the Faculty translated from the ‘Faculty of Veterinary Medicine’ to the ‘School of Veterinary Medicine’ within the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences, which consists of three Schools and seven Research Institutes.
The School has approximately 200 staff (academic, research and support) with 60 research students (including clinical scholars) and 700 undergraduate students.
