War & Peas
About War & Peas
War & Peas is a community heritage project exploring allotments during the First World War in Glasgow. It is based in Pollok Park where we have our own plot.
We have two weekly gardening clubs on Wednesday afternoons (14.00 - 16.00) and Friday mornings (10.00 - 12.00). During the clubs we will be planting and sowing - and eventually harvesting! - crops that were were grown during the First World War.
We are also exploring sustainability on allotments and will be creating wildlife habitats and learning how to make our own compost.
Everyone is welcome to the club - whether you are an experienced gardener or have never grown anything at all!
