...to headline the inaugural Magners Summer Comedy on Saturday 9 and Saturday 16 August at the newly refurbished Kelvingrove Bandstand!
Hosted by award winning comedian and presenter of The Stephen K Amos Show, Stephen K. Amos, headliners announced today include Frisky & Mannish, Abandoman, Umbilical Brothers and Pete Firman.
The shows, compered by British comedian Stephen K Amos, are aptly titled ‘Best of the Fest in the West’, and will feature top acts from the Edinburgh International Festival Fringe, including:

Magners, the UK’s favourite bottled apple cider brand, has also announced two new special guests at its Magners Summer Nights series of concerts. The Bluebells will be accompanying Alison Moyet on Saturday 09 August and another hometown band, The Silencers (acoustic), will take to the stage with Capercaillie on Thursday 14 August.
The new music festival takes to Glasgow for two weekends this summer (7 – 10 and 14 – 16 August 2014), with sold out shows featuring The Waterboys, Steve Earle, Squeeze and Teenage Fanclub.
Magners Summer Nights will feature a Magners Village incorporating a cider garden and premium street food with areas to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings with friends. The comedy gigs will run from 1pm and gates will open at midday, allowing the audience to enjoy this magnificent setting and the Magners Village.
Karen Koren, Artistic Director of the Gilded Balloon has recruited the best comedy talent from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. She said: “I am very excited to be presenting comedy at this brilliant new festival. Edinburgh tends to steal the limelight when it comes to summer comedy so it’s great to work with Magners in bringing some of the world class acts from the Fringe through to Glasgow.”
Mark Mackie, director of Regular Music said: “Karen and the Gilded Balloon have put a great line up together for us and at only a tenner a ticket, it’s the summer’s best deal and brings a real taste of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe to Glasgow.”
