Tucked away in a private suite on the hotel’s first floor, the one-man performance’s audience is limited to 15 people per show.
Described by fans as ‘astounding’, ‘mind-blowing’ and ‘a must-see’, Little Mysteries gives smaller groups a unique opportunity to witness close-up magic, take part in the performance and hear the narrative that goes alongside.
Glasgow sleight-of-hand artist and magician, Ryan Davidson, has already performed 50 shows and his weekly performances are receiving rave reviews – as well as unstoppable demand for tickets.
Ryan, who also wrote and directed the show said: “The response to Little Mysteries has been unbelievable. The tickets went on sale in December last year and, within a few days, were sold out until May. By the end of August the entire year was a sell-out, and we’re receiving daily emails asking about waiting lists or extra dates.
“The reviews online have been great. People really seem to have enjoyed the uniqueness and intimacy of the show, describing it as more of an experience, which is good. We felt it was right to extend the show as the demand is clearly still there.”
The show has been extended into 2016, with tickets announced for February selling out in less than three hours. Tickets for March followed a day later and by 7pm were also sold out. A further extension in April is likely to be the last, with tickets available from 9am on Friday 11 December.
Ryan added: “I think after April we’ll bring it to an end. You never know, we may extend the run again but I’m always looking ahead to the next idea. It’s been a great project and the staff at the hotel have been incredible. Their help and support throughout the year has been fantastic. We’re very lucky to be able to perform this show in such a beautiful hotel with such a rich history and it’s a privilege to be part of it.”
Graeme Gibson, general manager of Grand Central Hotel, said: “The Grand Central Hotel is delighted that Ryan has chosen to perform his residency with us and we are over the moon that, following the success of the 2015 sell-out shows, it has been extended into 2016. It allows more guests to enjoy this evening of mystery and wonder and we are hopeful the show will be extended further.
“Those coming to the hotel for the show can enjoy dinner and drinks with us before or after each performance – either in Tempus or Champagne Central. We’ve had wonderful feedback so far, and look forward to welcoming even more people to Grand Central for Little Mysteries into next year.”
Little Mysteries is performed by Ryan Davidson every Saturday evening from 7pm at Grand Central Hotel, Glasgow. Runs until end April 2016.
