Christmas is a magical time for children and none need the spirit of giving more than those struggling with life-threatening illnesses and other conditions. Buchanan Galleries has teamed up with the wonderful people at Yorkhill Children’s Charity to help shoppers donate toys to children and families needing some extra cheer this festive season.
Shoppers can share the Christmas spirit by purchasing an extra toy or gift item and donating to Yorkhill Children’s Charity volunteers based in the Centre. New toys are accepted unwrapped for any gender or age, from babies to 16-year-olds, and will be donated to young patients of the Royal Hospital for Children.
The Charity is also saving Buchanan Galleries’ shoppers from wrapping paper fuss and sticky tape battles with a full Christmas gift wrapping service. For a small but much needed donation, volunteers will wrap all purchased gifts offering a choice of paper and ribbons to suit loved ones of all ages.
Yorkhill Children’s Charity toy donation and gift wrapping station is based by the information desk on Buchanan Galleries’ first floor with volunteers on hand from 12:00pm to closing every Thursday through Sunday until Christmas Eve.
Buchanan Galleries centre manager Kathy Murdoch, said: “It is heart-breaking to think of the children struggling with illnesses and ailments, or even fighting for their lives over the Christmas holidays. Our hearts go out to them and their families and we’re proud to partner with Yorkhill Children’s Charity to help spread a bit of much needed Christmas cheer. I encourage shoppers to get behind this cause by picking up an extra toy or gift and donating to the wonderful Yorkhill volunteers. While you’re there, make a donation and get all your pressies wrapped for a good cause. ”
With over 80 stores open later in December, plus handy undercover car parking, Buchanan Galleries has everything shoppers need to spoil the special little people in their lives.
