Shoppers could be forgiven for thinking it was the real deal with all the racquet, however, the look-a-like tennis duo were actually there to mark the start of the Centre’s Wimbledon celebrations.
St. Enoch is inviting shoppers to enjoy the sporting event in its newly created tennis garden, where they can sit-back and watch their favourite matches live on the big screen. In true Wimbledon style, spectators can also enjoy strawberries and cream in the comfort that they won’t be rained on while watching Murray.
Strawberries and Screen will run daily until Sunday 10th July and will feature a busy line up of entertainment including competitions, photo opportunities and even a table tennis table for those feeling inspired. The tennis garden is located outside of Boots on the ground floor and will be open from 12-5pm.
Strawberries and Screen is just one of the busy activities St. Enoch has planned this summer to celebrate the holidays.
A number of other familiar faces will be popping by throughout July and August including family favourites Noddy (30th July) and Paw Patrol (31st July) as well as Barbie who will be visiting on (28th August). Hamleys has it covered for the more adventurous with its NERF Vault and K’NEX K-Force events which include a number of challenges focusing on precision, accuracy and most of all, having fun.
Hamleys will also be playing host to a number of roadshows with visitors including Playmobil (21st-27th July), Lego (6th-9th August) and Sylvanian Families (20th August). Each roadshow features a packed itinerary for all the family and gives children the chance to meet some of their favourite characters here in Glasgow. More information on each of the roadshows can be found at www.hamleys.com/explore-whatson-glasgow.irs
Anne Ledgerwood, General Manager of St. Enoch Centre, said: “The schools are out and what better way to celebrate the magic of summer than with a busy line up of in-centre events. From Wimbledon to character visits we’ve got something for all the family to enjoy as they shop for their summer wardrobe.”
