Shunning the traditional chauffeur-driven car and horse-drawn carriage, Allison and Chris McCormick took to the skies of Glasgow to test run the show’s most talked about new attraction – a R44 Helicopter – and mark their 25th wedding anniversary.
While the prospect of a breezy helicopter journey might faze many a bride, Allison resurrected her wedding dress and took to the sky. She said: “We wanted to do something really exciting to celebrate our anniversary so when we discovered The Scottish Wedding Show had a helicopter we thought ‘what’s better than a romantic trip in the sky’! After giving it a quick trial run to experience what it would be like for a bride and groom, I can say this is definitely going to be a big hit!”
Returning bigger and better than ever before, new features at this year’s show include an extravagant helicopter display, a ‘Live Band Showcase’ to help couples find the perfect band and ‘Field of Dreams’ which will showcase everything needed to make a dream outdoor wedding a reality.
With up to 300 of the UK’s leading wedding suppliers in attendance, The Scottish Wedding Show is the ultimate destination for brides and grooms planning their dream wedding. Whether traditional, quirky, vintage or themed, there will be something to suit every wedding.
Specialists will be on hand throughout the day to offer invaluable industry advice, as well as a whole host of exclusive offers and discounts, making it a glorious and inspiring day out for not just brides-to-be, but family and friends too.
Take a seat at the dazzling live catwalk shows. With performances three times a day seating up to 700 people, they are the perfect source of inspiration to help achieve that picture-perfect wedding look.
New for October is the ‘Live Band Showcase’, a dedicated area to help visitors find their ideal wedding band. With leading performers working their magic on stage, there will now be live entertainment throughout the day.
For brides opting out of traditional weddings and choosing the great outdoors, the brand new ‘Field of Dreams’ feature area will help inspire, with everything from fairy lights and rustic lanterns to glamping tents and mini prosecco vans.
Upgraded tickets are available, giving guests that all-important VIP status, as well as exclusive access to the spacious surroundings of the VIP Lounge. Beat the queues with guaranteed fast-track entry and enjoy a complimentary glass of bubbly among other treats.
With everything you need to plan that special day in one place, it’ll be a magical and unforgettable experience.
